Sydney Gay and Lesbian MardiGras

Harbour City Bears is famous for its festival, “Bear Essentials™”, held every year during the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras - it’s Australia’s largest gay festival for bears and cubs. This year we’re celebrating Sydney – the beach and the lifestyle. Bear Essentials™ is a great way of participating in our community and it’s a lot of fun. Many local Sydneysiders take the whole week off work just so they can attend all our events, or hook up with international travellers visiting Sydney. Bear Essentials™ has been running for fourteen years now and this year our nominated charity is the Inspire Foundation, which does amazing work with young people. We have some “old faithful” events that seem to return year after year, but in 2010 we certainly intend to spice things up, with new events and special guest DJs from interstate and overseas.
