Hardcore is a funny, painfully honest and enlightening look at just what leads the participants of pornography to commit the most intimate of acts to film. Four hot young guys are trying hard to forge careers in the bizarre world of British gay porn. For Robert, facing an aging crisis at 25, being in a porn film is an adventure, rather like paragliding - something to be ticked off the ‘to do before you die’ list. To Kevin, a struggling but dedicated actor, it's just another job and a way of showing his dramatic versatility: “a straight man in a gay film, what could be more versatile than that?”
Martin, new to the scene, sees it as a bit of fun with a fuck thrown in. It's left to Craig, veteran of two previous films (and winner of a ‘Stiffy’ award for Most Promising Newcomer), to dispel their illusions about the raunch and the glamour, and to prepare the guys for the huge gulf between the watching and making of pornography.
