Dance parties

Presented in partnership with
With the iconic Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge as its backdrop, Mardi Gras’ Harbour 2010 is the dance event with the view! Set in the tropical surrounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens, with two beautiful garden dance floors, Harbour 2010 is the perfect recovery after the Parade the night before.
No wonder we’re expecting a sell-out party as our international and interstate visitors party down with thousands of locals, soaking up the sunshine (and the cocktails) till the sun goes down. This is the perfect summer party.

Party Safe:
Plan ahead. Get lots of rest and eat well before hitting the town. If you are attending several events give yourself time to recover in between.
NO LIQUIDS will be permitted into Mardi Gras events. The only exceptions are prescription medications. If you need to bring medication with you, ask for a Mardi Gras Medical representative at the entry area and you can discuss your medication with them in confidence.
You will then be allowed into the event providing you have no illicit substances.
Expect to see police. Police and drug dogs may be present at the entrance and inside the party. Weigh up the risks if you are thinking about using illegal drugs.
New Mardi Gras does not support illegal drug use or possession.
Any person found with illegal substances will be handed over to police.
Know where the Medical Team is at the event, it is displayed on the maps below. If you or a friend require medical assistance, or you see someone in trouble, contact any ACON rover or member of security – they are in radio contact with the medical teams and can call for assistance.
Don’t be afraid – policies have been developed to ensure patrons’ confidentiality. Security personnel are there to make Mardi Gras events fun and safe for everyone.
Your co-operation will lead to a quick entrance to the party so have your belongings ready, you may encounter pat-downs and bag searches.
If you need help at any point throughout the party, don’t hesitate to alert security.

- If a sniffer dog smells drugs on you, they will sit next to you or indicate you. This means the police may search you.
- Keep calm during the search. If you are arrested, you don’t have to say anything and you can ask for a lawyer.
- If you have been searched and wish to further understand your legal position please contact the Inner City Legal Centre.
