Important information when buying tickets!

Sydney Mardi Gras 2025 tickets are available to purchase through a range of platforms depending on the event. While the majority of our events are sold via Moshtix, tickets are also available via Ticketek, Eventbrite and the City Recital Hall website.

Mark your calendars! Tickets are on sale 10am AEDT Friday 15 November. Want a head start on tickets? You can access a range of pre-sales:

  • Mardi Gras Member pre-sale: 10am AEDT Monday 11 November until 9am AEDT Friday 15 November or when allocations are exhausted, whichever comes first.
  • American Express pre-sale: 10am AEDT Tuesday 12 November until 9am AEDT Friday 15 November or when allocations are exhausted, whichever comes first.
  • Early Access Sale: 10am AEDT Thursday 14 November until 9am AEDT Friday 15 November or when allocations are exhausted, whichever comes first.

Each pre-sale has its own allocation of tickets, and one sale does not impact another. Tickets are not guaranteed.

How to access pre-sales:

  • Mardi Gras Member pre-sale: complete your Mardi Gras Membership application by 5pm AEDT Friday 8 November 2024.
  • American Express pre-sale: active cardholders only.
  • Early Access Sale: subscribe to the Sydney Mardi Gras newsletter by 11:59pm AEDT 12 November 2024.

Apart from getting the first dibs on tickets, Mardi Gras Members also have the chance to snag discounted tickets and exclusive event benefits:

  • Paradiso Pool Party: Member-priced ticket from $59+BF
  • Taylor Square Takeover presented by American Express: Member-priced ticket from $139+BF
  • Club Cindy: Member-priced ticket from $49+BF
  • Mardi Gras Party: Exclusive access to Mardi Gras Member Fast Pass ticket ($189+BF) which includes express entry and admission into the event
  • Laneway: Member-priced VIP ticket from $109+BF

All Mardi Gras Member-priced tickets are limited, not guaranteed and available only in the Mardi Gras Member pre-sale, until allocations are exhausted or the sale closes (whichever comes first).

MobTix returns for Sydney Mardi Gras 2025, presented in partnership with ACON’s First Nations Health Programs. Sydney Mardi Gras is committed to working closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to celebrate and elevate First Nations LGBTQIA+SB culture. The MobTix Program has been designed to create opportunities and accessibility for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and ensure participation in the festival.

MobTix is a special allocation of tickets that allows Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples both within and outside Australia to submit an expression of interest to purchase up to 2 tickets to any eligible event for $49+BF each.

Want the best shot at tickets to the 2025 Festival? Here’s our go-to guide for buying tickets:

  • Create an account with the ticketing platform in advance, you can even save your payment method, contact information and more. Before the tickets go on sale, log in with your preferred browser.
  • In the queue? Do not refresh your browser, this means you’ll leave your place and get bumped to the back.
  • Don’t have multiple screens, browsers and windows open at one time.
  • Moshtix does not have a shopping cart function, which means you can only purchase tickets to one event at a time so have your links prepared in advance.
  • Please do not use fake or dummy contact information to sign up for updates or purchase tickets, this will make it difficult to contact you with event.
  • Purchases are limited to 6 per transaction in the pre-sales, and 8 per transaction in the general public on sale.

Mardi Gras Member pre-sale: The Mardi Gras Member pre-sale is accessed via a unique code, Members who sign up before the cut-off (5pm AEDT Fri 8 November) will be sent their code and event links Sunday 10 November.

American Express pre-sale: The American Express pre-sale is accessed via unique links, sent to active cardholders and accessible via the American Express Experiences portal.

Early Access Sale: The Early Access Sale is accessed via a unique link that will be sent to the Sydney Mardi Gras newsletter subscribers on Wednesday 13 November.

No. No pre-sale tickets are guaranteed. All sales are available until allocations are exhausted or the sale period closes, whichever comes first. We recommend following our tips for buying tickets and have your relevant code, links and checkout information ready in advance.

No. Each pre-sale has its own allocation. Any tickets that aren’t sold within the pre-sales will be made available in the general public sale.

Codes are only used for the Mardi Gras Member pre-sale. Your code will be emailed to you in advance, so you have everything you need before the tickets go on sale.

Pre-sale emails and codes are sent via our newsletter system. If you’ve unsubscribed to our email communications we are legally not allowed to contact you, please update your preferences from the footer of one of our previous email communications with you or reach out to us on tickets@mardigrasarts.org.au 

To avoid our emails going to your junk/spam folder, mark reception@mardigrasarts.org.au and tickets@mardigrasarts.org.au as a ‘Safe Sender’ in your email platform.

Yes. Tickets for Sydney Mardi Gras events can be purchased using buy-now-pay-later or payment installment options. Tickets to events sold via Moshtix can be purchased using Zip Pay, and tickets to events sold via Ticketek can be purchased using AfterPay. If you’re planning on using Zip Pay or AfterPay, be sure to sign up in advance and have your login details ready to make your check out process as smooth as possible. 

ZipPay and AfterPay will not be available for tickets purchased via the American Express pre-sale. 

No. Sydney Mardi Gras does not use dynamic ticket pricing for any of our events. Dynamic ticket pricing is when ticket prices adjust to demand, Sydney Mardi Gras events are sold in either tiered or flat releases, all ticket prices available in the pre-sales and general public on sale is available on the individual event pages on our website.

Events marked as ‘allocation exhausted’ may have further ticket releases, events marked as ‘sold out’ will have no further ticket releases.

Moshtix is Sydney Mardi Gras preferred ticketing platform.  

However Mardi Gras Party and Laugh Out Proud are sold via Ticketek as the Hordern Pavilion and Enmore Theatre are contracted Ticketek venues, Hot Trans Summer is sold via Eventbrite as Glass Island is a contracted Eventbrite venue and Blak & Deadly: A First Nations Gala Concert is sold via the City Recital Hall (the events venue) website.

No. The barcode is locked until closer to the event as an anti-ticket scalping and re-sale scam prevention strategy.

You can use digital tickets to access all Sydney Mardi Gras events. You’re welcome to print your ticket, however this is not a requirement to enter the event. 

Events marked as ‘allocation exhausted’ or ‘sold out’ will have a waitlist enabled. If you join a waitlist you’ll be contacted if any further tickets become available, however individual event allocations and on-sale times apply.

The majority of Sydney Mardi Gras ticketed events are 18+, to find out age restrictions on individual events visit the event page on our website.

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is committed to ensuring our events are welcoming and accessible for all members of our communities. For detailed information on each Sydney Mardi Gras signature events, please visit the event pages on our website. 

Sydney Mardi Gras supports the Companion Card program and you can access your complimentary Companion Card ticket through our official ticketing providers. You can create an accessible Companion Card booking by submitting a request/enquiry on the individual event listings on Moshtix (by clicking ‘Accessibility’ next to the event name) or Ticketek. 

No. To ensure you get into our events as quickly and smoothly as possible we will not be conducting name checks at the door. 

If you come across a queuing page, it means a popular event is currently on sale. Please remain in the queue and DO NOT refresh the browser. Other fans are in the process of making transactions. You will be directed to a new purchase session once it becomes available.

Collector Tickets are enabled for some Sydney Mardi Gras events sold via Moshtix. Collector Tickets are a hard-copy memorabilia ticket that are posted to you, if you purchase you ticket before 3 January 2025, the Collector Ticket will arrive prior to the event, purchases after 3 January will arrive post-Festival. Collector Tickets can be used for admission into an event, however digital tickets will still be issued to you if you would prefer to use a digital ticket, or make a purchase after 3 January. 

Collector Tickets can be added to your order when you select your tickets, all you need to do is toggle on the option. Please ensure you add the correct address while you’re checking out, as this is where your Collector Ticket(s) will be sent.

Resale will be enabled for events once they reach ‘sold out’ status. Sydney Mardi Gras will only enable resale via the Moshtix and Ticketek platforms – this is the only way we can verify the tickets are legitimate. Please do not buy resale tickets with, or list your tickets on unauthorised resale platforms such as Tixel, there is no way we can verify the ticket(s) and these platforms are susceptible to scams.
