Alice Anderson (she/they)

Alice Anderson (GAICD) is an experienced board director serving on four different community organisations. They have over 10 years’ experience working in the disability sector and over five years’ experience in workforce inclusion. They are a person with learning disabilities, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. Alice currently works as the Sector Development Coordinator for The Centre for Volunteers and advocates about the power of volunteering and inclusion in volunteering spaces. Sydney Mardi Gras has been a huge part of Alice's life. Alice has organised floats for Girl Guides NSW ACT NT and lead teams of volunteers for the Rainbow Zone and the Accessible Viewing Areas. Alice won the Volunteer Award in Excellence in Innovation in 2023 for their volunteering efforts with both Sydney Mardi Gras and Sydney WorldPride.

Alice has a Bachelors in Arts Organisational Learning and Diplomas in Community Service and Business Management, and is a recent graduate from the Australian Institute for Company Directors’ Company Directors course. She is passionate about community services and good governance.

Alice has multiple other volunteering activities such as the secretary for Deaf Sailing NSW, Girl Guides NSW ACT NT, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Yabun Festival, City West Housing and City of Sydney. Alice is an advocate for volunteering as a great way to get involved with local communities, self improvement and supporting important causes.

Alice is committed to a sustainable future for Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras helped Alice to come out to be a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and she wishes for this organisation to continue to offer that to all LGBTQIA+ folks to be proud of who they are.
