Misty Delray is that girl! Originally from Launceston, Tasmania, she moved to Hobart as a teen and has been embracing drag for the past eight years. Misty is not only a talented performer but also the face of Coles’Everyone is Welcome at Our Table campaign, having gone from employee to representative. She is set to leadColes in the Parade for the third consecutive year in 2025.

Do you remember your first Mardi Gras experience?

"The first Mardi Gras I did was in 2019, just before Covid, after I won Miss Gay International 2019. I got to march with their float for the first year, and it was an amazing experience!"

What is your favourite Mardi Gras memory?

"Every Mardi Gras is an amazing experience, but World Pride was probably up there. The amount of people and the number of events was insane—absolutely insane!"

What event are you looking forward to in 2025?

"Definitely the annual Parade. It brings everyone together. Everyone gets to put their best foot forward, be who they wanna be, celebrate everything diverse, and just have a good old time."

What doesFree to be mean to you?

"This resonates for me, growing up in a small state where not everyone feels as comfortable as they should. In Tasmania and nationally, we aim to be free and for everyone to feel comfortable in their skin. It’s an absolutely amazing campaign to support because no matter what walk of life you’re from, you're entitled to be your own self."
