Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Board Co-Chairs elected

The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Board have elected Co-Chairs Brandon Bear (he/they) and Mel Schwerdt (she /her) to lead the Board after Giovanni Campolo-Arcidiaco completed his term at the recent AGM after three successful terms as Chair.

The Co-Chairs will lead the Board into an exciting new era of Sydney Mardi Gras, after the celebrations of Sydney WorldPride for the 45th anniversary of the first Mardi Gras.

Giovanni said, “I made the decision of sticking by the 3-terms-max convention knowing that Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is in a healthy position, in trusted hands with committed Directors, with a wonderful team of generous and talented professionals starting with CEO Gil Beckwith, and on the cusp of a new exciting Future. 25 years on, I look forward to more years of Mardi Gras!”

The 2024 Festival and the 46th annual Sydney Mardi Gras will be held from 16 February to 3 March, 2024.
